mentioned in the Oakland Tribune on 21 Jun 1913. This was not him,

MARRIAGES OF EL PASO COUNTY, TEXAS
The following marriage records were copied by me in 1965, in a room at the old
courthouse where many record books were just kept in stacks. These records were
copied by hand in the exact order in which they appeared in the Books. I cannot
tell you why later years are recorded prior to earlier ones. It is said that
most of these records have now been lost. You will see names which are still
prominent in El Paso: SCHUSTER, KERN, DETWILER, CAPLES, HART, DOWELL and many
more. Jan Parsons Armstrong, April 2000

MARRIAGE BOOK II
F. J. Gluyas to Dora A. Eaton 16 July 1888
They were at home in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California during
the Great Earthquake on 18 Apr 1906 From Clifford Couch, Sr.: He
remembers Frances Craig's account of this family's experience in the earthquake.
Both parents and herself were present in their home. She had told him that she
was amazed and would never forget how her mother's hair turned totally white,
literally overnight due to having been so scared. 15.
Madora A "Dora" EATON was buried on 22 Aug 1837 in Forest
Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, Los Angeles County, California. She was
born on 21 Aug 1867 in Utah.6
Peggy Newsom: I'm not even sure if Dora realized that she was actually born
in Utah. I got this from the 1870 Census where it shows this quite deliberately.
Her daughter had believed that she was born in Louisville, Kentucky and stated
that on her death certificate. She appeared in the census in 1870 in Stockton,
San Joaquin County, California. She appeared in the census in 1880
in Hamilton Township, Butte County, California. She appeared in the
census in 1920 in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California.
She appeared in the census in 1930 in District 719, Los Angeles, Los Angeles
County, California. She died on 20 Aug 1939 in Los Angeles County,
California. DEATH: Courtesy of Pat Andrews <holt1@thevision.net>:
Dora A. Gulyas, died 20 June 1939, Los Angeles County, age 71
DEATH: NOTE from Peggy Newsom: I have a letter from Dora (possibly written by
her caretaker) to her daughter dated 14 Aug 1939 summoning Frances to visit.
I also have a letter dated 22 Aug 1939 from Clifford Craig from Dallas written
to his wife, Frances, verifying receipt that day of both a letter and telegram
notifying him of the death of "Mother". I also have the telegram that
shows being sent at 1:20am and received at 8:06am that day. I believe the death
to have taken place on 21 Aug 1939.
