8. Albert Wojciech
"George" SZPILA was born on 23 Apr 1873 in Zolynia, Poland.
Birth Certificate spells Szpyla.
He emigrated on 13 May 1895 to New York Port of Entry. He died
Myocarditis on 9 Nov 1935 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. From
Mary Alice Sudzinski Augustyn: Died and funeral observed in his home. She remembers
from being a small child that they had problems getting the casket through the
door and ended up manipulating it through a window.
Obituary from the Dziennik Chicagoski Newspaper:
To all relatives and acquaintances we report the sad news that our most beloved
father, brother and grandfather, the late Albert SZPILA,after a short and serious
illness, provided with Blessed Sacraments, on 9 November, 1935, at 5:30 AM, at
an advanced age.
The funeral will be Tuesday, on 12 November, at 9:30 AM, from "z zakiadu
pogrzebowego" J. L. Wisniewskiego, 1237 No. Ashland Ave. to the church of
St. Stephen, and from there to St. Adelbert's Cemetery.
To this sad ceremony we invite all relatives and friends, we, saddened with
grief:
Peter, Harry, and Anthony, sons; Stella and Maria, daughters; Martin, brother;
Sophia, sister; Aniela (Nellie) and Maria, daughter-in-laws; Edmund Sindzinski
and Peter Zozakiewicz, sons-in-law; grandsons and granddaughters; along with
the whole family.

He was buried on 12 Nov 1935 in St Adalbert Cemetery, Cook County, Illinois.

married about 1897. They appeared in the census in 1900 in Cook County,
Illinois. Immigration: According to the 1900 Cook County, IL Census:
Immigrated in 1895.
Shows them living next door to Martin (previous page).
They appeared in the census in 1910 in Cook County, Illinois. According
to the 1910 Census, Albert and his wife, Wanda, both could read, write, speak
English, and rented their home. The census does list Albert's occupation, but
not clearly enough. They were divorced after 1910. 9.
Wanda KRZYZAK was born on 20
Nov 1877 in Zolynia, Poland. She emigrated on 2 Dec 1892 to New York
Port of Entry. She appeared in the census in 1930 in Cook County,
Illinois. In this census she reports that she is widowed. The obituary
that I have states her husband didn't die until 1935 and makes no mention of
her, just their children. On 2 Dec 1936 she was a working at Artmade Manufacturing
Company when she applied for a Social Security card (#341-01-6556) in Chicago,
Cook County, Illinois. She died on 19 Feb 1963 in Elkhart County,
Indiana. She was buried on 21 Feb 1963 in St Adalbert Cemetery, Cook
County, Illinois. Lot 231 Blk ? Section 20 Moved to Indiana after
marrying Frank.
Immigration: According to the 1900 Cook County, IL Census: Immigrated in 1892.

as a Cleaner. His permanent address is still listed as Chicago. He appeared
in the census in 1920 in Cochise County, Arizona. Here he is in the
military. He appeared in the census in 1930 in Cook County, Illinois.
He was buried in Dec 1969. OCCUPATION: From George Spila: Worked
as a pressman for Herald American Newspaper. Also used to be a bookie for the
