Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Providence Baptist Church with Rev. P.E. Maples officiating. Burial was in Providence cemetery. A native of DeKalb county, Mrs. Hayes was born January 23, 1871. She was a daughter of Reuben Hayes and Nancy Heffner Hayes and she was married to R. H. Bond in 1895. He died August 24, 1936 and she was married to John Hayes in September 1940. Mr. Hayes preceded her in death four years ago. Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, Herbert, Henry and Odus Bond, Warren county, and Charlie Bond, Marion, Ky.; two daughters, Mrs. Odus Whitlock and Miss Edna Bond, Warren county; one sister, Mrs Eliza Gracy, Texas, and a stepson, Clarence Hayes, Cincinnati, Ohio.
